CAIRO, July 23. /TASS/. At least 15 people were drowned on Wednesday in a pleasure boat wreck in the Nile, the Al-Arabia television channel said.

According to the TV channel, the accident took place near the Egyptian capital city Cairo. According to preliminary information, the pleasure boat with about 70 people onboard collided with a cargo ship.

The police detained the owner of the pleasure boat. An investigation is underway.
