KIEV, July 20./TASS/. Nearly 2,000 troops from 18 countries are taking part in NATO’s Saber Guardian/Rapid Trident-2015 exercises that started in Ukraine’s western Lviv region on Monday, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.
"We have a record number of servicemen this year," he said.
Troops from Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Estonia, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the US are taking part in the drills, the spokesman said.
Saber Guardian/Rapid Trident-2015 exercises are held in Ukraine on the annual basis. Last year's drills saw 1,300 troops from 15 countries.
