LPR’s militias withdraw all weapons of caliber under 100mm from engagement line

MOSCOW, July 19. /TASS/. Militias of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic [LPR] have completed the withdrawal of weapons of a caliber less than 100mm to a distance of at least three kilometres of the line of engagement, with the only exception of the area near the settlement of Schastye, LPR militia’s spokesman said on Sunday.

"All weapons of a caliber under 100mm have been pulled out, with the exception of the settlement of Schastye, where the situation remains very tense," LuhanskINformCentre quoted him as saying.

The spokesman said by Sunday evening all commanders had reported the completion of withdrawal of tanks, armoured personnel vehicles and other weapons of a caliber less than 100mm.

On Saturday, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics [DPR and LPR] announced withdrawal of tanks and armoured vehicles equipped with weapons under 100mm caliber to a distance of three kilometres away from the line of engagement. Possible withdrawal of such weapons has been discussed at Minsk talks on the settlement in Donbass but no agreement on that matter was reached with Kiev. So, the self-proclaimed republics have taken a decision on unilateral withdrawal in the interests of the soonest peace settlement. Such weapons will be kept only at the positions north of Donetsk and Debaltsevo, or at the most problem sections of the lone of engagement. The LPR is withdrawing weapons from the entire engagement line, except the settlement of Schastye.
