Ukraine declares Russian diplomat persona non grata

According to Ukraine’s Security Service the decision was caused by "a conflict of his activities and the diplomatic service", as well as by violations of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations

KIEV, July 17. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry following reports of the national Security Service announced Russia’s acting consul general in Odessa persona non grata.

"Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has presented to the Russian side a note demanding the Russian Federation’s acting consul general in Odessa leave our country immediately," the Security Service said without naming the Russian diplomat.

Representative of Ukraine’s Security Service Vasiliy Gritsak said the decision was caused by "a conflict of his activities and the diplomatic service, as well as by violations of [the Vienna] Convention [on Consular Relations]."

As yet, TASS does not have comments on the situation from the Russian side.
