Ukraine’s Radical Party leader urges MPs to consider bill on president’s impeachment

The politician said the bill is needed as now there are no real levers for ousting the Ukrainian president except a "Maidan"

KIEV, July 13. /TASS/. The leader of Ukraine’s Radical Party, Oleh Lyashko, has called on the country’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, to consider Tuesday a bill on the president’s impeachment.

"The Radical Party faction is ready to vote for amendments to the constitution, namely for the cancellation of deputies’ immunity," Lyashko said, stressing that simultaneously a bill on temporary investigative commissions and a bill on the president’s impeachment should be considered tomorrow.

The politician said the bill is needed as now there are no real levers for ousting the Ukrainian president.

"Give me an answer to the question: who may bring to justice a person who holds the post of the president. No one! For this, only a "Maidan" needs to be convened," Lyashko said.
