TEHRAN, July 11. /TASS/. Iran has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin along with another five heads of state to attend in the 3rd summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) due to be held in the Iranian capital of Tehran in late November, the IRNA news agency said on Saturday.
"Iran has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin and heads of state of five more countries to attend the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), that will be held in Tehran in late November," the Iranian news agency said.
Established in 2001 in Tehran, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum is an intergovernmental organisation of eleven major world producers of natural gas, which have in their control over 79% of the world’s natural gas reserves.
IRNA says that invitations to the summit will be sent to leaders of another twelve states.
