Ukraine government passes bill to denounce agreement with Russia on Khmelnitsky NPP

The intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and Russia on cooperation in construction of 3rd and 4th power units at the Khmelnitsky NPP was signed on 9 June 2010

KIEV, July 8. /TASS/. Ukraine’s government on Wednesday passed a bill allowing for denunciation of an intergovernmental agreement with Russia to construct two nuclear reactors at Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Minister Vladimir Demchishin said.

"This is a bill on denunciation that will be submitted to Rada [parliament]," Demchishin told TASS.

The intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and Russia on cooperation in construction of 3rd and 4th power units at the Khmelnitsky NPP was signed on 9 June 2010. The agreement envisages that Russia will supply necessary equipment for construction and operation of units.
