ASTANA, July 8. /TASS/. Kazakhstan and India have a great potential for developing trade and economic cooperation, Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Wednesday at a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Our countries have a similar agenda, great potential in the trade and economic sphere, long-term friendly ties, cultural and historical ties," Nazarbayev said.

All this makes Kazakhstan and India "fraternal peoples close in spirit," he added. "During talks in the narrow format, we discussed in detail all aspects of relations both in economy and politics, as well as regional and international situation," Nazarbayev noted.

India can learn a lot from Kazakhstan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday.

"Today Kazakhstan is developing as a very successful economy. India, though a very large country, can learn a lot from this," Modi said at a meeting with Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Though your country has a rather small population, less than a single city in India, there are two such powers as Russia and China near you. In such conditions, your skillful leadership, vision and adherence to the development of the country are obvious," Modi told Nazarbayev.
