IAEA, Iran reach understanding on plan of bilateral cooperation

TEHRAN, July 7. /TASS/. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have reached a general understanding on an action plan and bilateral cooperation, which marks an important step for resolving the remaining differences in the talks on the country’s nuclear programme, IRNA Iranian news agency reported on Tuesday.

"Iran and the IAEA have made an important step in resolving the remaining differences by reaching a general understanding on a plan of bilateral cooperation," IRNA quoted Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, as saying after a visit of the IAEA’s delegation to Tehran.

He also said that "the visit which came just days after the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano visited Iran shows that the sides are determined to strengthen cooperation".

"The understanding reached by the parties will encourage further technical cooperation between Iran and the IAEA," he said.
