KIEV, July 6. /TASS/. Activists of the anti-maidan movement held a rally in Odessa demanding resignation of Odessa region governor Mikheil Saakashvili, Ukraine’s 1-news.net online newspaper said on Monday.
"Activists of Odessa’s anti-maidan organizations blocked traffic along Gaidar Street in Odessa. They carried banners reading ‘Saakashvili Go Home’ and ‘Saakashvili — War Criminal,’" the newspaper said.
"Our goal is simple — Odessa should have a normal local governor who will defend its interests but not an insane military criminal," activist Mikhail Koshelev said. "Odessa remembers it only too well that Saakashvili has blood on his hands — it was him who ordered to shell civilian quarters in South Ossetia. Hundreds of civilians were killed there. He unleashed massacre in Ossetia and now he is in Odessa."
Activists brought a goat in a red necktie. "I think no one needs any explanations," they said.
