BISHKEK, July 3. /TASS/. A mountaineer from the United States has died during the ascent to Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the General Staff of the country’s Armed forces told TASS on Friday.
The accident occurred on one of the mountain’s slopes at an altitude of 4,650 meters. "To evacuate the mountaineer’s body a helicopter of the republic’s Armed Forces was sent to the area," the press service said. "The body has already been brought to Bishkek."
The circumstances of the American’s death are being determined.
