Ferry sinks in Estonian port

No one was onboard the Harley-Davidson ferry

TALLINN, June 23. /TASS/. A ferry sailing under the Swiss flag has sunken in the Estonian port of Parnu, a local official said on Tuesday.

The official said that no one was onboard as the Harley-Davidson ferry, with a water displacement of 300 tons, tumbled into the Baltic Sea.

He also said that the ferry had undergone repairs two weeks before the accident.

In 1994 the Baltic country witnessed one of the worst maritime disasters of the 20th century in 1994 when the Estonia cruise ferry sank in the Baltic Sea claiming 852 lives.
