Local resident killed in east Ukraine's village of Spartak shelled by Ukrainian troops

According to a local government official, a 50-year-old man was killed in the shelling

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. One civilian was killed as a result of shelling of the village of Spartak in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by Ukrainian troops, a local government official, Vera Anushina said on Monday.

"A tragedy happened here. A 50-year-old local resident Nikolay Kurtikov was killed in shelling," the Donetsk News Agency quoted her as saying. She said the man had been killed while working at his bee garden.

A spokesman for the DPR defence ministry said earlier on Monday three DPR militias and two civilians had been wounded in shelling of DPR territories by Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours.

The Minsk accords were signed on February 12, 2015 after 14-hour negotiations between the leaders of Normandy Four (Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko) in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk. Concurrently, Minsk hosted a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian settlement.

A 13-point Package of Measures on implementation of the September 2014 Minsk agreements in particular included an agreement on cessation of fire from February 15, withdrawal of heavy armaments, as well as measures on long-term political settlement of the situation in Ukraine, including establishment of working subgroups as priority tasks.

The ceasefire however has been repeatedly violated.
