Media: Ukraine’s Poroshenko stays out of European security forum in Bratislava

The conference participants were not informed about reasons for these changes

KIEV, June 20. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko has not visited the largest in Central and Eastern Europe security forum GLOBSEC underway in Slovakia’s capital of Bratislava, Ukraine’s Evropeiskaya Pravda (European Truth) daily reported on Saturday.

Poroshenko’s name disappeared from the list of speakers late on Friday, June 19, the daily said.

The Ukrainian president was to attend the GLOBSEC for participation in a panel meeting on Ukraine and its role in Central Europe. In coordination with the organisers, his name was on the agenda of the summit’s official programme.

The daily says citing the organisers that neither a formal refusal nor official notification of Poroshenko’s visit was available to them.

"The conference participants were not informed about reasons for these changes," the Evropeiskaya Pravda writes.

Besides, Poroshenko’s press service has not given any reason for the president’s decision not to go to Bratislava.
