There will be a solution on Greece’s debt — minister

When commenting his earlier statement that Greece would never exit the euro-zone Greece’s minister Giorgos Stathakis said he is still confident about it

ST.PETERSBURG, June 19. /TASS/. Greece’s Minister of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism Giorgos Stathakis hopes for a positive outcome of the EU summit on Greece’ debt problem.

Speaking exclusively to TASS at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday the minister said: "We will wait and see, but I think we are working on the idea of coming to a positive outcome".

When asked what will happen if the EU decides not to extend the credit line to Greece the minister said: "I think there will be a solution."

When commenting his earlier statement that Greece would never exit the euro-zone Stathakis said he is still confident about it. "I am definite on this," he said.

Earlier on Friday, Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said the decision to hold an EU summit on Greece is a positive development.

"Holding the summit of Eurozone leaders on Monday is a positive development towards the signing of agreements to resolve the problem of Greek debt," Tsipras said.
