Russia cannot be isolated - Italy’s former president

The West is making a mistake using a punitive strategy on Moscow, says Italy’s former President Giorgio Napolitano

ROME, June 14. /TASS/. It is impossible to be using a tough line and to have Russia isolated without major consequences, Italy’s former President Giorgio Napolitano said in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

"It is impossible now to use punitive strategy or isolation of Russia, as Russia would not allow being isolated and will be searching for different counterparts," he said.

The West is making a mistake in relations with Moscow "not using the entire potential of gained productive relations with Russia to achieve a political settlement in Ukraine, which may be possible exclusively on the basis of the Minsk agreements.".
