Russia’s plane to take 19 ill Donbas children to Moscow for medical treatment

The children have various diagnoses but all of them need urgent professional and high-tech medical assistance, Russia’s Emergencies ministry official said

MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. A plane of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry will take 19 seriously ill children, the citizens of the troubled Donbas, to Moscow from Rostov-on-Don, in southern Russia, the ministry’s press service said on Thursday.

"The Il-76 Emergencies Ministry’s plane will fly to Rostov-on-Don soon from the Ramenskoye airfield outside Moscow. It will airlift 19 seriously ill children coming from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the ministry said.

The children have various diagnoses but all of them need urgent professional and high-tech medical assistance, a ministry official said. The plane is expected to arrive at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport late on Thursday.

The Ilyushin Il-76 has modern medical equipment and special medical modules which allow personnel to provide the patients with the necessary medical assistance during the flight.

The children and their parents will be accompanied by medical personnel from the emergencies ministry’s Centrospas unit and health ministry’s disaster medicine center, and also psychologists.
