MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. Russia’s new convoy carrying humanitarian aid to Donbas has cleared customs and crossed the state border with Ukraine, the Emergencies Ministry said on Thursday.
"The customs procedures for all the vehicles have been completed in due order at two border checkpoints - Donetsk and Matveyev Kurgan. They have crossed the border and started traveling on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the ministry said.
The customs procedures were monitored by the representatives of Ukraine’s customs and border services who have found no violations.
More than 100 vehicles are carrying over 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Luhansk, including canned meat, fish and milk, sugar, salt as well as essentials and supplies for educational institutions.
This is Russia’s 29th humanitarian convoy for Donbas. Since mid-August 2014, Russia has delivered more than 36,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes the war-torn region.
