KIEV, June 10. /TASS/. A new explosion occurred on Wednesday morning at a blazing fuel depot which had burned through the night outside the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, according to 112 Ukraine television news channel.

"Witnesses say the explosion occurred at 5:30 in the morning. Dozens of fire-fighting units and rescuers continue to tackle the flames," a correspondent reported from the scene, adding that it was difficult to contain the fire since blazing tanks were close to each other.

The fire at the BRSM-Nafta oil depot, located approximately 20 miles to the southwest of Kiev, erupted on Monday night and resulted in several explosions of tanks. By morning, the fire had spread to at least 16 tanks, most of them storing petrol.

Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby forest.

According to the latest reports, the death toll from the fire has reached five people. Ten people have been taken to hospital, including one person in critical condition.
