Normandy Quartet’s Paris meeting aimed at establishing dialogue in Ukraine — diplomat

The meeting of the political directors in the French capital is scheduled to be held on Wednesday afternoon

MOSCOW, June 9. /TASS/. Political directors of the Normandy Quartet countries (Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France) at the meeting in Paris on June 10 may approve recommendations for establishing Kiev’s dialogue with Donetsk and Luhansk, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said.

"We will study the effort made by the four working subgroups and the Contact Group and apparently will adopt some recommendations so that this work should focus on establishing a fruitful and mutually respecting dialogue between Kiev, Donetsk and Luhansk," Karasin said.

"This is the most important goal," he stressed.

The Russian diplomat said the tasks in the so-called Normandy format remain the same: to advance the actual implementation of commitments undertaken by the parties to the Ukrainian conflict as part of the February 12 Minsk agreements.

The meeting of the political directors in the French capital is scheduled to be held on Wednesday afternoon. Russian will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary Karasin.
