Oil depot fire near Kiev kills four people — media

KIEV, June 9. /TASS/. At least four people died in the oil depot fire in the Kiev region, the UNN Ukrainian news agency reports citing a source in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to the source, all the four were firefighters.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, firefighters extinguished one fuel tank, while 16 more are still burning.

"As of 07:00 June 9 the fire of one 900-cubic-meter fuel tank has been put out, fire fighters continue extinguishing 16 more tanks," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.

The prosecutor’s office of the Kiev region has opened a criminal investigation into the incident under the article "Violation of safety rules in explosive facilities or in explosive workshops."
