At least 21 killed in shellings in east Ukraine's Donetsk republic — DPR spokesman

Five of those killed were civilians

MOSCOW, June 4. /TASS/. At least 21 people were killed and another 124 were wounded in the artillery shellings of the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by the Ukrainian army over the past 24 hours, DPR defense spokesman Eduard Basurin told reporters on Thursday.

"In the course of artillery and mortar shelling of the republic’s inhabited localities 5 civilians were killed and 38 wounded, casualties among the DPR Armed Forces personnel totaled 16 killed and 86 wounded," the Donetsk news agency quotes him as saying.

Over the past 24 hours, the militias have registered 58 violations of the ceasefire regime by the Ukrainian army, including with the use of multiple rocket launchers and heavy artillery.

"The Ukrainian military shelled with multiple rocket launchers the Abakumov coal mine in Donetsk. Artillery fire also fell on the Tochmash factory in Donetsk, on Gorlovka, Shirokino and Spartak. More than 100 122mm and 152mm shells were fired during the artillery bombardments," Basurin said.
