MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. All 576 coal miners trapped in a mine in eastern Ukraine have been evacuated, the Emergencies Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the Zasyadko coal mine, in Donetsk city, on Wednesday afternoon, when shooting by Ukrainian government troops cut off electricity there, trapping more than 500 miners underground.

"Electricity in the mine has been restored. All miners have been evacuated," the ministry said, according to a Donetsk News Agency report, adding that no one asked for medical help.

Work is currently underway to evacuate miners from Donetsk city’s Skochinsky coal mine, also hit by Kiev forces’ shelling. More than 300 workers are trapped underground, said local defence ministry spokesman Eduard Basurin.
