PM: Slovakia supports EU stance on Ukraine but reserves right to defend national interests

GORKI, June 2. /TASS/. Slovakia, as a member of the European Union, supports a unified position on Ukraine, which should not become another Libya or Iraq, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has told a news conference.

"Slovakia is a member of the European Union, and we support the joint stance on the situation in Ukraine. But, as a sovereign nation, we reserve the right to defend our national interests, without disrupting this unity and the common positions of the European Union. We would not like Ukraine to become another Libya or Iraq," Fico said.
