MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/. The intelligence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic has found heavy weapons of Kiev forces pointed at Donetsk, the DPR’s defense ministry spokesman, Eduard Basurin, said on Thursday.
"The intelligence of the DPR Armed Forces sees that at the moment self-propelled artillery weapons and field artillery [2A36 Giatsint-B] have taken up firing positions near Sladkoye settlement," Basurin was quoted by the Donetsk news agency as saying.
The settlement is located some 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) from the contact line. "The weapons are pointed towards Donetsk," he said.
Basurin also said the reconnaissance forces have registered launches of Ukrainian multiple rocket systems against Kiev-controlled territories.
"In the morning the Donetsk Republic’s reconnaissance forces registered several salvoes from the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces with six Grad BM-21 multiple rocket launchers," the Donetsk News Agency quotes Basurin as saying. "No rocket shells hit the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics. Apparently, the shelling was against Kiev-controlled territories."
