Russian Railways denies delivery of military cargoes to Ukraine’s Donbas region

The company commented on Ukrainian media accusations that military cargoes were delivered to Ukraine’s Donbas region by railway

MOSCOW, May 25 /TASS/. The Russian Railways Company has denied as provocative Ukrainian media accusations that military cargoes were delivered to Ukraine’s Donbas region by railway, the company said in a statement circulated on Monday.

"The Russian Railways Company does not deliver regular cargoes to Ukraine’s south-eastern regions. Since the start of 2015, the company has been making seasonal deliveries of coal to the Luhansk thermal power station on agreement with Ukraine’s railway administration. The Russian Railways does not have any coal transportation orders for the moment. Any other statements do not correspond to reality," the company’s press service said.

"The reason behind such irresponsible statements may be to spoil the reputation and inflict commercial damage to one of the world’s biggest transportation companies and to Russia’s economy on the whole. Such actions should be regarded as part of a large-scale destructive information campaign against Russia," the Russian Railways stressed.
