HANOI, May 15. /TASS/. Fugitive tycoon Sergey Polonsky wanted in Russia for embezzling millions of dollars in a real estate project will be deported from Cambodia to Russia for violating the Southeast Asian country's immigration laws, a local immigration official said on Friday.

"We arrested him because he has stayed illegally in Cambodia for more than two years" on an expired visa, said Ouk Heiseila, director of investigations at the Cambodian Immigration Department.

"Cambodia will implement the law of immigration to deport him to his own country," he said adding that the procedure would take one week.

Polonsky's spokesman Ilya Rosenfeld told TASS earlier that Polonsky had been detained on his yacht "together with his staff, including two lawyers."

Polonsky is wanted in Russia on suspicion of embezzling some $70 million from shareholders in elite residential development projects in Moscow.

He was placed on Interpol's database at the request of Russia's Interior Ministry.
