Russia not to back UN Security Council resolution on light, small arms — envoy

Lithuania didn't take Russia's ammendments into account

MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Russia will not support a draft resolution in the United Nations Security Council on problems of light and small arms, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin said Wednesday.

"The Lithuanian presidency spoke with the initiative," Churkin said. "But it dealt with it [the draft] so hectically that it did not take into account our and other countries’ amendments. We can’t back [the draft]."
