Soldier injures four in shooting spree, commits suicide in Seoul

SEOUL, May 13. /TASS/. A soldier went on a shooting spree at a training camp for reservists in South Korea’s capital Seoul, wounding four his colleagues before committing suicide, the country’s Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at around 10.44 a.m. local time (0144GMT) at a military camp in Naegok-dong, southern Seoul, during the training. "Four people were wounded, two were hospitalized in a critical condition. The shooter committed suicide," the ministry said.

South Korea has mandatory military service. Conscripts undergo tough trainings and are often subjected hazing by older soldiers.
