Ukraine’s president lays flowers to Unknown Soldier monument in Kiev

The flower-laying ceremony was followed by a march of Ukrainian and foreign military orchestras

KIEV, May 9. /TASS/. Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko and other officials have laid flowers to the Eternal Flame in the Park of Eternal Glory on the slopes of the Dnieper on Saturday.

The president together with veterans of the Great Patriotic War walked along the park alley to lay flowers to the Unknown Soldier monument.

The flower-laying ceremony was followed by a march of Ukrainian and foreign military orchestras.

Later on, 500 recruits of the Armed Forces in the presence of President Poroshenko will take the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
