Contact Group on Ukraine starts meeting in Minsk

MINSK, May 6. /TASS/. The Contact Group on the Ukraine crisis settlement has started its meeting in the Belarusian capital, a TASS correspondent reported on Wednesday.

The Contact Group’s meeting will launch four subgroups to focus on economic issues and the restoration of facilities; refugees, internally displaced persons and humanitarian assistance; political issues and security.

Envoys of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deinego have already arrived in the Belarusian capital along with Ukraine’s Representative in the Contact Group Leonid Kuchma, OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Representative Heidi Tagliavini, and Russian Envoy Azamat Kulmukhametov.

Head of the Ukrainian Choice public movement Victor Medvedchuk has also arrived in Minsk.
