MINSK, May 5. /TASS/. The United States Air Force Band will participate in May celebrations in Belarus marking 70 years since Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, the Belarusian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
"American military musicians will perform at the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex on May 7. And on May 9, they will take part in a military parade in Minsk," defence ministry spokesman Vladimir Makarov said, adding that participation of US servicemen in Victory Day celebrations provided evidence of "our policy of peace, which shows how to protect national interests and maintain peace and reconciliation."
"This is more than a valuable and important lesson of World War II and our Great Victory," Makarov said.
