Belarus president says his country friendly to China

MINSK, May 4. /TASS/. Belarus is China’s friendly nation in the center of Europe, President Alexander Lukashenko told the Chinese media outlets on Monday ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit.

"China needs a friendly country in Europe," Lukashenko said. "Please have our possibilities in the centre of Europe at your disposal and let’s cooperate in the best interests of each other."

Lukashenko is certain that the Chinese "are very cautious and will never cooperate with problem states," while Belarus had no problems with anyone and China appreciated it.

"[Belarus] has a great huge China and China has a friendly country in the centre of Europe," he said.

China’s President Xi Jinping is to make a state visit to Belarus on May 10 to 12, first in the past 14 years. The two heads of state are expected to seal a treaty on friendship and partnership.
