Nepal earthquake death toll climbs to 4,310, over 8,000 injured

NEW DELHI, April 28. /TASS/. A total of 4,310 people have died in the massive earthquake in Nepal and more than 8,000 others have been injured, the country’s Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

Aftershocks measuring 5.2 continued hitting the region throughout the night. People have spent night under open sky for a third day in a row and doctors provide medical assistance to them in practically the same conditions, including the intracranial operations.

Several rescue teams are expected to arrive on Tuesday as the works to clear the rubble in search for the earthquake survivors continue.

The devastating 7.9 magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal on Saturday. At least 50 aftershocks were registered after it, with the strongest one measuring up to 6.6. According to the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC), at least 6.6 million citizens have been affected by the disaster.
