PARIS, April 22. /TASS/. France will help Ukraine conduct decentralization and a local government reform, says a joint statement signed in Paris on Wednesday by presidents Francois Hollande and Petro Poroshenko.

"The leaders of the two countries agreed to develop partner-like relations to support the process of reforms in Ukraine," the document says.

"In this connection, the president of the republic [Hollande] stressed France’s readiness to contribute to implementation of the process of decentralization and reform of the local self-government in Ukraine," it says.

Paris also plans to render "expert assistance" to the Ukrainian banking sector. The Bank of France and the National Bank of Ukraine are expected to cooperate. France is also ready to share with Ukrainian colleagues its experience in the sphere of customs control, management of state enterprises and privatization, the declaration says.
