Brother of China’s last emperor dies in Beijing

BEIJING, April 10. /TASS/. Puren, a half-brother of Puyi, the last Emperor of China, has died in Beijing aged 96, local media reported on Friday.

Puren, also known as Jin Youzhi, was Puyi’s last surviving sibling and was considered a hypothetical heir of the Manchu Qing dynasty, which ruled China from 1644 to 1912.

In 1947 Puren established a public primary school in Beijing and became its principal.

The school was later donated to the People's Republic of China government, and Puren continued working as a teacher until his retirement in 1988. He also wrote books on the history of the Qing Dynasty.
