JAKARTA, March 24. /TASS/. The visit of a delegation of Russian media executives led by Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Alexey Volin to Indonesia has special importance for the republic, the head of Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry department in charge of work with mass media said on Tuesday.

"It is very important for us to develop relations in the media sphere with all the friendly countries, including Russia, as we also face the task of getting our message across to the world and that’s why the exchange of information is of special importance for us," Andi Syamsurijal Usman said.

The cooperation between the news agencies of the two countries could play a very important role here, the official said.

Volin said this is a return visit of the Russian media delegation to Indonesia. "During my visit to Jakarta in 2013, we agreed with the Indonesian partners that we will exchange delegations of mass media executives and after that last year a large group of Indonesia’s media executives visited Moscow," he said.

"And now it’s time for a return trip when the Russian media executives have arrived in Indonesia," Volin said.

The Russian delegation plans to hold talks at Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the Foreign Ministry and also meet with the heads of Indonesia’s TV channels and the leading mobile operators.
