Permanent JCCC observation post to appear in Donetsk airport — OSCE report

According to OSCE observers, the Donetsk airport was one of the few areas along the line of separation where clashes with the use of small arms and mortars were still being recorded

VIENNA, March 16. /TASS/. Military representatives of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination [of the ceasefire] (JCCC) are considering a possibility of setting up a permanent observation post in the Donetsk airport area, says a daily report by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine for March 14-15 published on Monday.

"The Joint Center for Control and Coordination was exploring the airport area to determine the place for the center’s permanent location", OSCE monitoring mission said, citing the head of the Ukrainian office at the joint center.

According to OSCE observers, the Donetsk airport was one of the few areas along the line of separation of the parties to the conflict where clashes with the use of small arms and mortars were still being recorded. However, they point out that the situation in the Lozovsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk had become calm over the past few days.

Another hotbed was located to the east of the city of Mariupol where Ukrainian troops and self-defence forces fired on each other, the OSCE monitoring mission said.
