MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Envoys of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Luhansk to the Contact Group on Ukraine Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deinego have suggested making the city of Novoazovsk in the Donetsk region a venue for the Contact Group.
According to Pushilin, Donetsk and Luhansk are not against holding further meetings in the Belarusian capital Minsk. "However, more frequent meetings will yield better results. Therefore, we suggest Novoazovsk as a meeting place for the Contact Group", DPR envoy told Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Novoazovsk, an administrative center in south-east Ukraine, is located on the territory controlled by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.
The decision to make Minsk a regular venue for the Contact Group on Ukraine was taken on August 26, 2014, following talks that involved the Presidents of the Customs Union member-countries - Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan - Ukraine and representatives of the European Union. All major documents to settle the Ukrainian crisis have been signed in Minsk.
