MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Formation of a national unity government in Libya is the necessary precondition for overcoming the crisis, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo said on Tuesday after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
"This is a necessary precondition for settlement," Garcia-Margallo said. "We are looking for ways to unite deputies of the Libyan parliament," the minister added.
"We discussed the results of recent consultations on developments in Libya, where Tripoli representatives were also present," Garcia-Margallo said. "We assess it as a positive sign, this [consultations in such format] happened for the first time," he added.
"Talks in Algiers are planned, along with a conference in Madrid, where the international community will be able to discuss the fate of Libya," he said. "On April 13, a session of the EU Neighborhood will be held in Barcelona. All 28 EU countries will attend, along with representatives of Syria and Libya. I hope that representatives of the Libyan unity government will be among them," he said.
