Kiev still has not guaranteed silence regime around Donetsk airport — DPR representative

According to a report, a militiaman was wounded today at the airport as a result of firing from tanks at the DPR positions, the self-proclaimed republic's Defense Ministry spokesman says

MOSCOW, 6 March. /TASS/. The Ukrainian side still has not guaranteed the silence regime around Donetsk airport, representative of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin said on Friday.

"The Ukrainian side still has not guaranteed security around the new terminal of the airport [in Donetsk], from where we want to take bodies of Ukrainian military," he said.

In the presence of the OSCE representatives "the Ukrainian side gave guarantees regarding evacuation of bodies from the territory of the airport, as well as the bodies in the field," he said. "They [the Ukrainian side] once again failed to observe their obligations."

The proof of that is the "report about the militia wounded at 11:15 [local time] today at the airport; that was firing from tanks at the DPR positions," he said.

On March 4, the republic’s militia agreed with Ukrainian military that firing from the Ukrainian side at the Donetsk airport will be stopped for the term of evacuation of bodies.

"We have agreed with the Ukrainian side about ceasefire at the airport for a week," Basurin said then. The Ukrainian side confirmed they would do everything possible for soonest evacuation of bodies from the airport.
