CARACAS, February 20. /TASS/. Mayor of the Venezuelan capital of Caracas Antonio Ledesma was arrested on suspicion of plotting a state coup, the country's President Nicolas Maduro said Thursday in his address on national television.

The lawyer of the mayor earlier said that around 80 people showed up to arrest Ledesma, while no arrest warrant was shown.

Antonio Ledesma is a Venezuelan opposition leader and the mayor of one of the two administrative parts of Caracas.
