European Commission does not comment on possible deployment of EU police mission in Donbas

The EU calls on all sides in the Ukrainian conflict to observe the Minsk agreements, spokeswoman for EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini says

BRUSSELS, February 19. /TASS/. The European Commission has refused to comment on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s proposal to deploy EU police mission in Ukraine.

"I don’t have an answer. I cannot comment on that," Catherine Ray, spokeswoman for EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini, told journalists on Thursday.

The European Union calls on all sides in the Ukrainian conflict to observe the Minsk agreements, Ray said on February 17.

"We once again call upon all sides to observe the agreements reached last week [in Minsk]," Ray said. "Ceasefire is ceasing fire, so shooting must be stopped," she noted. "Any military operation must be stopped, and it is necessary to start heavy weaponry withdrawal," she stressed.

Ray stressed that EU is ready to support the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in facilitating the observance of the Minsk agreements.
