Debaltsevo completely under militia control — DPR Defense Ministry

Militiamen are ready to start pulling out hardware in the Debaltsevo area as soon as the situation allows that, DPR Defense Ministry spokesman says

MOSCOW, February 18. /TASS/. The city of Debaltsevo in the Donetsk Region has fully come under control of militia units, but separate groups of Kiev’s army units still act in the city’s southern part and are trying to offer resistance, a self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

"DPR army units are now conducting manhunt activities in Debaltsevo aimed at revealing and blocking these groups," Eduard Basurin told the Donetsk news agency.

Militiamen are ready to start pulling out hardware in the Debaltsevo area as soon as the situation allows that, DPR Defense Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

"There is still a populous group of Ukrainian troops in the Debaltsevo encirclement now," Basurin told a briefing, adding that the situation will soon be resolved.

"The situation in Debaltsevo should not become a pretext for violation of the Minsk agreements for Ukraine or the militia," he stressed.
