MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. The Russian government has approved a draft agreement reached with Singapore on opening of a Russian cultural center in Singapore, the Russian Cabinet said in a resolution released on an official portal of juridical information on Tuesday.
The Russian foreign ministry has been instructed to sign the agreement on the establishment of the Russian cultural center in Singapore after preliminary negotiations with the Singaporean partners.
The tasks set forth to the Russian cultural center include the development of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian and other fields, ensuring support to ethnic Russians in Singapore, familiarizing the local population with Russia's history, culture and language and establishing the relations of partnership between the two countries.
The draft agreement envisages that Singapore is to lease a plot of land with a territory of 0.33 hectares to the Russian Federation for a market price.
The agreement stipulates that Singapore may open a similar cultural center in Russia.
