DPR emergencies ministry: explosion kills three, injures 12 in Donetsk

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. A blast in the centre of Donetsk left three people dead and twelve wounded, the Emergencies Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Saturday.

"Shells hit Teatralny Avenue, Universitetskaya and Shchorsa Streets," the Donetsk news agency said citing the ministry. "Two women and one man were killed and twelve people received various wounds, ranging from light to severe."

The shock wave shattered the windows of the Donetsk National University’s department, residential houses, a school and a kindergarten and also damaged three cars, the DPR ministry said.

Earlier in the day, the Donetsk news agency said the blast had rocked a trolleybus stop in Teatralny Avenue several minutes before DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko began a news conference nearby.
