KIEV, February 5. /TASS/. US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday noted the necessity for the Ukrainian authorities to back the law on a special status for Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk regions) and extension of the region’s political rights.
Kerry said this at a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The top US diplomat quoted Poroshenko as saying in the morning that he keeps supporting the law. Kerry also said it is very important not to forget that Poroshenko also entered into commitment to put into effect constitutional reforms and hold fair elections in Donbas.
