Seven civilians killed in Donetsk republic shelling over 24 hours — DPR defense ministry

Fourty four civilians were wounded

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Seven people were killed and another 44 were wounded in the past 24 hours as Kiev forces shelled the towns of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s republic, the DPR’s defense ministry’s spokesman Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.

"Among the civilian population, seven people were killed and 44 injured," Basurin was quoted by the official Donetsk news agency as saying.

Most casualties were reported in the city of Donetsk.

According to the United Nations, over 5,000 people have been killed since mid-April last year as a result of armed clashes between Ukrainian troops and local militias in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
