WASHINGTON, February 4. /TASS/. The conflict in eastern Ukraine costs the country 5-10 million dollars a day, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalia Yaresko said on Tuesday at a television conference organized by the US Atlantic Council.
But the financial cost is not the main thing, she said. The death toll exceeds 5,000 people, and refugees number 650,000, Yaresko said, adding they are supported by Ukrainian social services.
As a result of the conflict, the country has lost 20% of its economy and seven percent of its territory, the minister said.
