Eight civilians die in east Ukraine shelling over past 24 hours — DPR defense ministry

Twenty two people have been wounded

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Eight civilians have been killed and more than 20 wounded in shelling of east Ukraine's self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, local defense ministry spokesman Eduard Basurin told a daily news briefing on Tuesday.

"Civilian casualties over the past 24 hours left 8 dead and 22 wounded," the Donetsk news agency quoted Basurin as saying.

Some 63 shelling incidents have been recorded in the region over the past 24 hours, the spokesman said, adding that the Ukrainian security forces have heavily shelled the city of Makeevka.
